  1. …serendipitously I was only telling a pal the other day that one of my great regrets is,whilst at Newcastle Uni in the 70s,not staying on for a few extra days post Christmas break up date in Dec 75 to catch Lee and Warne playing in a pub in Whitley Bay – a gig still talked of in hushed tones up there.Not sure what Pat and Charlie make of it but Jimmy Webb’s original of “Moon” is an all time favourite

  2. To be honest, they make it sound a bit like everything else. Saw Konitz in Nottingham with a local back-up trio – he was in a foul mood, having had a row with the club owner, told us he wasn’t going to do any chat between numbers but played pretty well all the same.
